Your Guide to a Long Weekend in Mykonos

Mykonos is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece. It is well known for its wild nightlife, beautiful beaches and sunsets. I spent several days here indulging in the amazing cuisine, soaking up warm rays of sunshine and of course enjoying the epic nightlife.

This travel guide is filled with tips for anyone going to Mykonos for a quick trip.

Day 1

Get lost in Mykonos with a walk through the white narrow alleys full of cafes and shops.

Wander through the heart of the island known by tourists as Matogianni. This street is dominated by designer items, handmade jewelry and souvenir shops. Mykonos is known for its beautiful, colorful, hand-crafted sandals, which you may spot being made in the local shops.

End up in Little Venice for the best sunset dinner and drinks on the island.

Day 2: Relax at Paraga beach

This beach allows you to rent lounge chairs for a low price. You can enjoy table-side lunch and drinks while tanning in the sun. Paraga beach is known for crystal clear waters and shallow rocks off the shoreline that make it look like you’re walking on water. Things stay pretty mellow at this beach until around 3pm.

Next, kick it up a notch at Kaula Beach Bar, which turns into a pretty crazy beach party.

End your evening in Downtown Mykonos at Scandinavian Bar. For a small cover fee this is one party you don’t want to miss.

Day 3

Enjoy a quick breakfast or brunch at Alegro Restuarant before heading to Mykonos’ famous windmills. They date back to the 16th century and are some of the most iconic symbols in Mykonos.

Start your party early today by heading to the bumpin’ Tropicana Beach Bar. This beach bar takes the party to the next level. The raging starts before sunset and goes well into the night.

Finish up your evening by enjoying a real nightclub experience at Paradise Club Mykonos. They bring in some of the biggest DJ’s in the world (such as Kaskade and DJ Snake) and throw one hell of a party. This is a club you definitely don’t want to miss out on.

Day 4

Enjoy a resort-style break from all of the crazy party scenes at Psaru Beach. As one of the calmest beaches in Mykonos, you’ll be able to relax in the sun while sipping on a cocktail before catching your ferry to your next destination.
