Beauty and the Beast fans collectively lost their minds when Disney announced the launch date for the Be Our Guest restaurant back in 2012. Enjoy a delicious French breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the Beast’s castle in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported into the movie.
Be Our Guest offers self-seating, so you have your choice of three rooms. There’s the classic grand ballroom, the Beast’s dark and mysterious West Wing, or the castle gallery replete with a humongous twirling statue of Belle and the Beast.
The West Wing
This is my go-to dining room. It is dark and spooky, so the average age of diners in this room tends to skew a bit older than in the other two rooms. What really makes this room are the magical touches. Every 15 minutes, you’ll hear a crash of thunder as a petal falls from the enchanted rose. Keep a close eye on the portrait on the wall – it just may change into something more beastly.
The Castle Gallery
The Castle Gallery is usually the least crowded room. There are no bad views with the music box centerpiece and Beauty and the Beast artwork on the walls.
The Grand Ballroom
It will feel like you’ve stepped into the movie when you enter the main dining area of Be Our Guest. Across the room you can see snow gently falling from the windows, and above are the cherubs and chandeliers that feel like a tale as old as time.
To order, you’ll use computer screens after your wait in the line (yes, even with a reservation). The screens are big, bright, and very easy to use. You’ll check out using your dining plan and then seat yourself wherever you’d like. Your food will be brought to you magically via golden cart if you have a Magic Band, but if not you will be given a magic rose to take to your table with you. Be Our Guest has also added an order-ahead which can be used up to 30 days in advance.
Be Our Guest is my favorite restaurant in Disney World. For those who are looking to escape the cycle of burgers and fries, this restaurant will be a dream. Grab a cronut or Croque Madame for breakfast. Croque Monseiurs, French Dip Sandwiches, and French Onion soup (my favorite!) are great options for a filling and relaxing lunch. If you’re able to snag a dinner reservation, the steak will make your mouth water!
Dining Plans & Reservations
Be Our Guest accepts the Quick Service, Disney Dining, and Deluxe Dining plans for 2017 and 2018. Reservations are snapped up quickly for this restaurant (especially for dinner), so try to book as close to 180 days out as you can.
